Roland is a world-renowned Japanese advertising equipment manufacturer. And its large-format printer in the industry accounted for a high-end market share. Roland was used to be called AMDEK Corporation.It was initially specializing in the manufacture of digital music.The company showed peripherals and other musical instruments parts sales primarily.In 1982, Roland had the first drawing machine for printing music DXY-100.
In 1983,AMDEK Corporation changed its name to Roland DG Corporation. It has introduced DXY-800 and DPX-2000 two large format plotters. In 1988 - 1990,Roland launched some joint ventures in the USA and Australia.In the mean time,it enter the plotter market. In 1988,there was its first digital cutting plotter PNC-1000. Combination of photo machines and cutting plotter drawing R & D experience, Roland launched first jet cutters CJ-70in 1997. Also it introduced machine PC-60 spray with thermal transfer technology in the same year. In 1998, Roland introduced the world's first high-precision 1440dpi grand six-color wide-format inkjet machine FJ-50. And then six-color 1440dpi wide jet cutters CJ-500 was showed one year later. Roland DG Corporation successfully obtained ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification in 1999 and 2000.
