How To Strengthen Your Father/Son Bond After Divorce
Many newly-single fathers are glad to have won visitation rights with their children, but when that first visit time arrives, they may well be at a loss for what to do while they are with their child. You want something that both of you can enjoy together and something that will make the most of the limited time you have together. Children who don't spend quality time with their father typically turn out worse than children who do according to research. There are certain things that boys can't learn elsewhere and need to learn them from their fathers.
Unfortunately, there are many fathers who have a hard time bonding with their children. Back in the old days, fathers had little interest in raising their children since they spent most of their time working outside the home. Many fathers have little idea what their children's favorite activities are. The answer is to ask your son what he'd like to do. It's best to take his ideas into consideration although sometimes you'll want to disregard them. Chances are that if you're a little shy with him, he feels the same way about you. Things can be comfortable in the beginning without the mother there to help. However, this will pass.
Weather-appropriate outdoor activities are a joyful way for fathers and sons to bond. This can be the perfect time for the two of you to form a closer relationship, whether you're camping or attending a football game. If you enlist your son in the Boy Scouts, you could use the meetings and activities to boost both of your self-esteem, personal values, and confidence. Volunteering to work as his scoutmaster can also be a good idea so you'll have common interests and also mutual friends.
You both may not like outdoor activities though. This doesn't mean that there's nothing for you to do together. Mini-field trips, such as to the zoo, the science center, a concert, or a museum can be just as much fun. You aren't limited to doing something special either. You can enjoy a baseball game on TV while sharing a bowl of popcorn or help with the tasks involved with raising children, such as shopping for clothes, doing homework, and practicing music lessons. It doesn't really matter what you're doing, the time will be special. Doc No. rjslhssld-sdg
